About Sime Darby Medical Centre, Kuala Lumpur

Originally built by Americans according to American standards, Sime Darby now occupies two sites, close to each other: the original hospital, and a brand new state-of-the-art facility which opened in 2012. While it is very convenient from the airport, the hospital is a little way outside the centre of Kuala Lumpur.

Sime Darby is a busy, multi-disciplinary hospital treating over 2,000 patients daily across a full range of specialties. Its areas of particularly high reputation are neurology and cardiology and we were impressed to discover that the majority of the 160 specialist doctors working here have previously trained and worked in hopsitals in the USA, the UK or Australia.

This is Sime Darby's flagship hospital and in our opinion it represents excellent value for medical travellers. Good infrastructure, good doctors, not expensive - no wonder it is at the forefront of medical travel to Malaysia.
